Match the vehicle, body and cargo
V-15 vans and R-60 rigid trucks have fixed bodies and cannot hitch trailers. Buy a tractor with a suitable trailer or without one; the trailer shop shows which vehicles it fits. Food, chemical and gas tankers are separate types. Every load must fit both the weight and volume limits.
Drivers change the forecast
Drivers have economy, speed and care ratings plus specialist traits. Use an economical driver on a long haul, a fast driver where the deadline matters, and a careful driver where condition or fragile cargo makes failure costly.
Condition and fatigue are operating costs
Maintain your trucks and let drivers rest between jobs. From level 7 and reputation 50, a depot workshop costs €2,000 and takes 6 hours to build, with €10 daily upkeep. Its single local repair bay reduces repair cost and time; hiring a mechanic improves both reductions. Mechanic recruitment including the first day costs €265, then €15 per day. Scheduled maintenance keeps the risk down
Every model carries its own service interval of 20,000–30,000 km. The vehicle card counts down to the next service and warns below 2,000 km; once the interval is overdue, the chance of a breakdown on the road keeps climbing until the truck is serviced. A service visit restores condition to 100% and resets the counter, which an ordinary repair does not do. A repair can also be planned in advance: it starts by itself after the current trip or when a bay frees up, and you are charged only when the work begins.
